RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician College senior Aaron Brill (West Palm Beach, Fla./John I. Leonard) was chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending Mar. 30, the CACC announced on Monday.
Felician's only action of last week came in a CACC road doubleheader split against Bloomfield College on Mar. 28. Brill, a 6-foot, 200-pound shortstop, went 4 for 9 in the twinbill. He lined a tie-breaking three-run double in the fifth inning of the Golden Falcons' 8-1 Game 1 victory, then went 3 for 4, including his 100th career hit with Felician, in Game 2. On the day, he had 11 assists without an error and was involved in two double plays.
Brill has played in all 33 games this season for Felician. He ranks second in the CACC with a .380 batting average and first with seven triples. He has scored 19 runs and driven in 16. Brill is a 2009 graduate of John I. Leonard High of Greenacres, Fla.
Brill is the second Golden Falcon this season to be named CACC Baseball Player of the Week. Sophomore first-baseman Scott De Jong (North Haledon, N.J./Eastern Christian) was so honored on Mar. 10.
Also on Monday, Felician sophomore pitcher John Holland (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Liberty) was listed on the CACC Weekly Honor Roll. More information is available at http://www.caccathletics.org/sports/bsb/2013-14/releases/20140331-Baseball-report.pdf.
