RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Members of the Felician University softball team won or shared all three of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) weekly awards for the period ending Feb. 21, the CACC announced on Monday. The Golden Falcon players were honored as part of the first set of weekly awards handed out by the CACC for the 2016 softball season.

Felician began its season by splitting six games at the Snowbird Softball Freeze-Out Tournament last Friday through Sunday in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Golden Falcon junior second-baseman Jackie Dueñas (Riverside, Calif./Arlington) was selected CACC co-Player of the Week after batting .471 (8 for 17) with a .550 on-base percentage. She had two doubles and one triple, scored five runs and drove in three for the week, while adding three sacrifices. Duenas, a 2013 graduate of Arlington High of Riverside, Calif., shared the honor with Becca Stanley of Wilmington University.
Felician sophomore pitcher Kaila Gerber (Vincentown, N.J./Seneca) earned CACC Pitcher-of-the-Week honors. The 5-foot-6 right-hander went 1-0 with a 3.09 earned-run average in two appearances, including a complete-game victory over Winston-Salem State University on Sunday. She pitched to a .250 opponent batting average for the week, striking out four batters in 11 1/3 innings. Gerber is a 2014 graduate of Seneca High of Tabernacle.
The CACC Rookie of the Week award went to Felician freshman shortstop Zeaenna Brackett (Woodbury, N.J./Woodbury). In six starts, Brackett batted .474 (9 for 19), with four runs batted in and three stolen bases. She capped her week with a 4 for 5 performance in the win over Winston-Salem. Brackett is a 2015 graduate of Woodbury High.
Felician is guided by third-year head coach Chris Foye of Verona. Duenas, Gerber, Brackett and the Golden Falcons (3-3, 0-0 CACC) are next in action on Mar. 3, when they face Saint Anselm College and Wheeling Jesuit University in Clermont, Fla.
