CALDWELL, N.J. – The Caldwell University women's basketball team turned a two-point halftime lead into an 81-56 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over visiting Felician University on Wednesday evening at the George R. Newman Center. Caldwell (21-4, 16-1 CACC) is the No. 4 team in the season's first NCAA Division II Committee Regional Ranking released earlier on Wednesday.

Sophomore forward Kameron Stone (Bronx, N.Y.) came off the bench to lead Felician with 14 points and eight rebounds. The Cougars received 31 points, nine rebounds and four steals from the CACC's leading scorer, junior Kristin Drogsler (Middle Village, N.Y.). Caldwell junior guard Sharell Sanders (Dorchester, Mass.), meanwhile, posted a triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Sanders added four steals in 38 minutes of action.

Felician never led, but recovered from an early-seven point deficit to trail just 16-15 after one quarter. Similarly, the Golden Falcons were down by nine points on three occasions in period two, but tallied the half's last seven points to enter intermission behind, 37-35.

Felician was still within five points of the Cougars following a Stone three-point field goal with four minutes, 35 seconds, remaining in the third quarter. But the hosts rattled off the next eight points, and their lead never slipped below double-digits again. Stone's lay-up made it 59-48 at the end of the third.

The visitors could not cut into the deficit, and were still down 12 after a Stone jump shot with 5:25 to play. It ended up being the last field goal of the night for Felician, which was outscored, 15-2, the rest of the way. The final margin was Caldwell's largest lead of the game.

Caldwell made 12 of 28 three-point attempts (43 percent), led by a 6-for-11 figure from Drogsler. Senior Antoinette Pilla (Scarsdale, N.Y.) added 16 points for the Cougars. Sophomore guard Danelle Gibson (Bronx, N.Y.) tallied 11 points, five rebounds and five assists for the Golden Falcons.

Felician (6-19, 5-13) concludes its 2016-17 season with a 5:30 tip-off at Nyack College on Tuesday, February 21.
