RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University junior Carly Brantner (Shrewsbury, N.J./Eastern Christian) and senior Marissa Nieves (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) have been named to the 2015 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer All-Tournament Team.
The All-Tournament Team was announced at the conclusion of the CACC Championship Game on Saturday afternoon at LaMoy Field, on the campus of Post University in Waterbury, Conn. The squad was selected by conference and tournament media relations staff. The complete All-Tournament Team is listed below.
Brantner, a 5-foot-4 defender originally from Waldwick, recorded her first point of the season with an assist during Felician's 3-2 first-round victory over No. 2 seed Holy Family University on Nov. 3. She was instrumental in keeping the first half scoreless in an eventual 1-0 semifinal loss to Philadelphia University, breaking up several Ram attacks from her center back position. She was also voted to the all-CACC Second Team for the second consecutive season.
Nieves, a 5-foot-7 midfielder, scored Felician's first goal against Holy Family and took most of the Golden Falcons' 10 corner kicks in the tournament. She played her team's entire 180 minutes in the tournament. Nieves was the Golden Falcons' third-leading scorer on the season with four goals and three assists.
Both players are CACC All-Tournament selections for the first time.
The Golden Falcons amassed an overall won-lost record of 8-10, and finished in seventh place on the CACC table with a 7-5 league mark. They reached the CACC semifinals for the second consecutive season.
