Rob DeCarlo Jr. entered his first collegiate coaching position when he was hired as Felician's head coach of men's and women's cross-country and women's track and field in June 2015. He is Felician's third cross-country coach and the second person to lead the women's track program.

DeCarlo was the head indoor and outdoor track and field and assistant cross-country coach at Don Bosco Preparatory High School for 11 seasons, from 2002-2013. His track teams won five NJSIAA Non-Public 'A' state championships, including three consecutively in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and claimed more than 50 All-Americans. His spring 2011 squad was invited to the Nike National Track Championships and finished eighth in the country.

DeCarlo was named Star-Ledger New Jersey Coach of the Year in 2011 and Bergen County Indoor Coach of the Year in 2005-06 and 2006-07. He was also selected North Jersey Coach of the Decade by Paul Schwartz of The Record in June 2010.

DeCarlo is an English teacher at Mount Saint Dominic Academy in Caldwell. He taught literature, journalism, creative writing and public speaking at Don Bosco Prep from 2002-2013. A 1995 graduate of Park Ridge High School, he earned a B.A. in English from Montclair State University in 2000. DeCarlo began his coaching career at Northern Valley Regional High at Old Tappan in 1999.

DeCarlo and his wife, Megan, reside in Saddle Brook.
