RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University freshman Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif./Southwest) has been chosen as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week for the period ending Nov. 15, the CACC announced today.
A 5-foot-10 outside hitter, Calero posted a pair of "double-doubles" during Felician's 1-1 week. She turned in 23 kills, the most by any Golden Falcon player this season, and added 15 digs during a four-set home victory over Caldwell University on Nov. 10. She came back to record 13 kills and 10 digs as Felician lost in three sets at Concordia (N.Y.) College on Saturday. For the week, she averaged 5.14 kills and 3.57 digs per set with a .200 attack percentage.

Calero played in all 105 sets for the Golden Falcons this season. She hit .096 with a team-high 2.66 kills and 2.14 digs per set. She finished second on Felician in service aces with 27. She is a 2015 graduate of Southwest High of El Centro, Calif.
Also on Monday, Felician senior libero Pati Giemza (Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland/SMS Beach Volleyball) was named to the CACC Weekly Honor Roll. Additionally, men's basketball juniors Jamal Reid (Newark, N.J./East Side) and Kennedy Chukwuocha (Willingboro, N.J./Medford Tech) and women's basketball sophomore Shyla Osmond (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) were named to the CACC Weekly Honor Rolls of their sport.
Felician women's volleyball is guided by second-year head coach John Chang of Cranford. The Golden Falcons (7-24, 5-14) completed 2015 in fifth place in the CACC North Division.
