PHILADELPHIA – Felician University's comeback attempt from a 2-0 deficit fell short in a 3-2 (25-15, 25-21, 18-25, 22-25, 15-11) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's volleyball loss to host Nyack College on Friday night at Bowman Gymnasium.

Sophomore outside hitter Paulina Calero (El Centro, Calif.) led Felician (0-7, 0-2) with 11 kills and 15 digs. The Golden Falcons received nine kills and nine digs from sophomore middle blocker Carmen Shaw (Gardnerville, Nev.).

Felician's service and serve-receive game gave it trouble throughout the night. The Golden Falcons committed 14 errors on serve, and allowed 15 Nyack aces while coming up with only four of their own.

The Golden Falcons could not take advantage of a 12-3 advantage in blocking. Sophomore Hannah Skendziel (Tampa, Fla.) posted seven blocks (five solo) go go along with six kills.

Freshman Lauren Mack (Valparaiso, Ind.) totaled eight kills and 14 digs for Felician. Classmate Sammi Turpin (St. Petersburg, Fla.) collected 23 assists and 13 digs.

Sophomore Megan Ma'afala-Malav (Pearl City, Hawaii) had 10 kills and junior Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, Calif.) added eight kills and 15 digs for Nyack (2-7, 1-0).
