BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – Felician University was unable to equal the score down the stretch of its 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer loss to host Concordia (N.Y.) College on Wednesday afternoon at Holtdorf Field.

Freshman forward Diego Duffort (Madrid, Spain) tallied the lone goal for Felician (2-6, 1-3 CACC).

Concordia (5-2, 4-0) produced early pressure and it paid off just five minutes, 26 seconds into the action. Clipper junior Nemanja Zivanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) saw his shot carom off a goalpost, but teammate Michael Lin (Hillsdale, N.J.) was the first player to the rebound. Lin got the ball past the goalkeeper to give the hosts the early lead. Concordia owned a 13-0 first-half shot advantage but settled for the one-goal lead at the break.

At the exact same juncture of the second period – 5:26 in – Concordia was awarded a penalty kick. Junior Dennis Limani (Norderstedt, Germany) converted to double the Clipper edge.

The Golden Falcons punctured the scoreboard in the 59th minute. Senior Dean Wright (Dublin, Ireland) carried the ball down a wing and crossed it to Duffort for the finish.

With 17 minutes remaining in regulation time, Concordia junior goalkeeper Mikael Varin (Toulouse, France) stopped a Felician breakaway. The Golden Falcons then got off two shots in a frantic final 95 seconds, but both sailed harmlessly over the crossbar.

Felician freshman keeper Alex Ficarra (Phillipsburg, N.J.) was credited with seven saves. Concordia finished with advantages of 21-6 in shots and 8-1 in corner kicks.

The Golden Falcons are idle until a short trip to Bloomfield College on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
