The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's Fall 2019 Feature Series is titled "Impactful Service -- Making Yourselves and Others Better."
The CACC will spotlight the community service efforts of four student-athletes from each of its 14 member schools through December. Felician University is the second insitution in the series to be featured.
Four Golden Falcons were chosen and asked to answer the following questions:
- Name a community service event in which you recently took part.
- What lessons did you learn by participating in the event?
- How do you apply those lessons in your life since taking part in the activity?
Below is how Felician SOFTBALL senior first baseman Nicole Spiegelberg (Blauvelt, N.Y./Tappan Zee) responded.
Transcript: "I have served as a volunteer "Buddy Ball" coordinator/clinician teaching sports to athletes with disabilities. People with disabilities still know how to have fun. Their activities might need more coordination and they might need more patience from those around them, but they love the opportunity to a part of competition. It's important to give everyone a chance to show off their talents!"
