RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University freshman Briana Lee (Jersey City, N.J./Irvington) has been named to the 2020 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Third Team. The conference's award winners were voted on by its 14 head coaches and announced on Tuesday.
Lee is the first freshman to be elected to a postseason all-CACC team during Felician's 21 years as a member of the conference.
Lee played in and started 25 games (all but one) for the Golden Falcons. In 30.9 minutes per game, she averaged 15.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.2 steals. She scored 20 or more points on six occasions and set a Felician freshman record with eight double-doubles. Lee became the first player in school history to grab 20 or more rebounds in a game twice.
"With each game that passed, Briana continued to prove that she was one of the top players in the conference," said 12th-year Felician head coach Steve Fagan. "For a freshman to receive this honor, it's certainly indicative of both her ability and her hard work. I'm very proud of her."
Lee ranks ninth in the CACC in scoring and third in rebounding and steals. She won or shared the CACC Rookie of the Week award four times.
Lee is a 2019 graduate of Irvington High School. She was an all-conference honoree for the Blue Knights as a senior after scoring more than 1,000 points in three seasons for METS Charter School of Jersey City.
The Golden Falcons completed the 24th season in program history with a won-lost record of 4-22. They finished seventh in the CACC North Division with a 3-16 league mark. Felician was a NAIA Division II independent for its first three seasons of existence.
Felician now has had nine student-athletes earn all-conference honors this academic year.
