ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – Freshman Jordyn Juvelier (Centereach, N.Y.) scored both Felician University goals during the Golden Falcons' 20-2 non-conference women's lacrosse loss to host Molloy College on Tuesday afternoon at the Rockville Centre Sports Complex.
The goals were the first in the collegiate career of Juvelier, whose team was playing its opening game of 2019. Classmate Asha Harper (Manchester, N.J.) assisted on Juvelier's initial goal for her first career point.
Molloy senior Brianna Wilson (Levittown, N.Y.) registered four goals and four assists, becoming the Lions' all-time point-scoring leader in the process. Wilson produced a strong two-way effort, adding six draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Lion senior Molly Brown (Massapequa, N.Y.) opened the scoring just 37 seconds into the contest. After 12 minutes of action, the hosts had broken the game open, jumping out to an 8-0 edge. With 10:55 left in the first half, a Kara Rosenberg (East Patchogue, N.Y.) tally forced running time at 10-0. The Lions carried a 14-0 lead into halftime.
With Molloy ahead by 16 and 21:20 left to play, Juvelier spoiled the shutout. She found the cage again at the 14:07 mark on a free-position shot. The Lions scored three times down the stretch for the final margin.
Molloy out-shot the Golden Falcons 40-15. Felician junior goalkeeper Megan Euler (Manchester, N.J.) made eight saves and picked up two ground balls. Felician owned a 12-11 advantage in draw controls, with freshman Sam Majewski (Binghamton, N.Y.) topping the visitors with six.
