Women's Lacrosse Opens Season With Loss At Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Felician University women's lacrosse team began its fifth varsity intercollegiate season with a 17-0 non-conference loss to host Lewis University on Friday afternoon at Lewis Stadium.

Felician senior goalkeeper Megan Euler (Toms River, N.J.) made seven saves and led all players with seven ground balls. Freshman midfielder Emma Perone (Milltown, N.J.) picked up three of the Golden Falcons' five draw controls.

Freshman attack Sarah Bradley (Wye Mills, Md.) set a Lewis single-game record with 14 points. She scored eight goals – on eight shots – and added six assists. Freshman midfielder Paige Bracey (Apex, N.C.) notched three goals for the Flyers (2-5).

Bradley first dented the scoreboard just 21 seconds into the action. The hosts led, 4-0, after 10 ½ minutes, and 9-0 with 7:10 left until halftime. By the 3:46 mark of the first half, the Flyers forced running time with a 10-0 edge, and led, 11-0 at halftime. Lewis recorded three more scores during the first 10 minutes of period two.

Lewis piled up a 28-6 shot advantage and helped forced the Golden Falcons into 27 turnovers. Felician freshman Amanda Ramirez (Manchester, N.J.) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Felician plays its home opener next Tuesday at 4 p.m. against Centenary (N.J.) University at the Lyndhurst (N.J.) Recreation Complex.
