LYNDHURST, N.J. – Felician University went down to a 4-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer loss to visiting Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday evening at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
Felician junior goalkeeper Jamie Kazenmayer (Mooresville, N.C./Lacey Township [N.J.]) matched a career high with 14 saves.
Kazenmayer made 10 first-half stops to keep the Golden Falcons (3-6, 1-5) within a 2-0 deficit. Goldey-Beacom dented the scoreboard during the game's early stages when junior Taylor Owen (Pittsburgh, Pa./East Pennsboro) finished a corner-kick opportunity with a low, diagonal shot from right to left. A Lightning dribbler was fouled near the goal in the 34th minute and Jackie Ayers (Rising Sun, Md./Rising Sun) converted the ensuing penalty.
The Golden Falcons maintained more possession in the second period but only periodically translated it into scoring chances. GBC completed the day with advantages of 25-5 in shots and 8-1 in corner kicks. The Lightning tallied in the 63rd and 81st minutes for the final margin.
Redshirt junior Danielle Jenkin (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) was the only Felician player to attempt more than one shot. Goldey-Beacom senior Jenna Fannon (Newark, Del./University of Delaware), who scored her team's third goal, led all players with seven shots, putting five on frame.
The game was played as part of Felician's Homecoming Weekend.
Felician is home again on Tuesday to entertain Dominican (N.Y.) College at 6 p.m.
