Nyack Volleyball Gets Past Felician In Three

NYACK, N.Y. – The Nyack College women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-14) Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory over visiting Felician College on Friday night at Bowman Gymnasium. Nyack (2-25, 2-12 CACC) ended a five-match losing streak and gained a split of its two-match season series with the Golden Falcons.

Warrior freshman Alexus Winters (Yorba Linda, Calif.) led all players on the night with 14 kills. Classmate Kelsi Collins (Tarpon Springs, Fla.) hit .318 with nine kills and 16 digs. Freshman Sally Taylor (San Diego, Calif.) led Felician with eight kills, 13 digs and two blocks.

A tightly contested first set was tied, 21-21, before Nyack pulled away out of a time-out. Felician (5-14, 3-11) was unable to hold onto a 6-0 Set 2 lead, and the Warriors then hit .312 in the third set to finish off the victory.

Freshman setter Olivia Denny (Las Vegas, Nev.) led Nyack to a .196 team attack percentage while picking up three kills, 30 assists and 13 digs. Junior Sarah Shebel (Chandler, Ariz.) posted 19 assists and 10 digs for Felician.
