RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Sophomore middle blocker Katie Asbery (Mililani, Hawaii/Mililani) hit .533 with a season-high 10 kills and two blocks to lead Felician University to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-4, 25-7) non-conference women's volleyball victory over visiting Lincoln (Pa.) University and wrap up a tri-match on Felician's Homecoming & Family Day on Saturday at Job Gymnasium.

Both the Golden Falcons and Lions lost to the Jefferson Rams earlier in the day. For Felician, it was a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference setback to the Rams. Felician (6-15, 4-9 CACC) remains a half-game ahead of Bloomfield College and one game up on Dominican (N.Y.) College for the fourth and final playoff spot from the CACC North Division. The Golden Falcons have six league matches remaining, including one each against the Bears and Chargers.

Felician's victory over Lincoln (1-14) ended an eight-match losing streak. Prior to the match, a brief ceremony was held to honor the Felician chapter of the Student Veterans of America.

The Golden Falcons never trailed in either of the first two sets against the Lions. Felician took control with a 12-3 Set 1 lead, and jumped out ahead, 13-1, in the second set.

The hosts trailed briefly early in Set 3 before rolling off eight consecutive points for a 9-2 edge. Later, another 9-0 run helped Felician complete the victory just 50 minutes after the first service.

Junior opposite hitter Kaleysa Vodrazka (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) added seven kills to the Golden Falcon attack. Libero MaryGrace Puryear (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) totaled 11 digs and five aces and defensive specialist Alondra Diaz Sanchez (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Colegio de La Salle) turned in nine digs and six aces for Felician, who put down 15 aces for the match.

Felician freshman Julia Lukasiewicz (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) came off an injury to make her collegiate debut, logging three kills and three digs in two sets. Sophomore libero Tymera Crudup (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) had nine digs for Lincoln.

To start the day, Jefferson (18-7, 12-1) used a 4-0 run to break away from a 15-15 tie and key its Set 1 victory en route to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 27-25) CACC win over Felician. The Rams gained separation mid-way through Set 2, moving ahead 15-9, then survived two Felician set points before ending the match with a 27-25 Set 3 victory. The third set featured 12 ties and eight lead changes.

The Rams remained tied for the top spot in the CACC South Division.

Senior opposite Daniela Cintron (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Academia Maria Reina) had 13 kills, 14 digs and three blocks to pace the Rams. Junior outside Ariana Rosario (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/CPN) totaled 11 kills and 10 digs. Felician junior setter Charlotte Greek (Menifee, Calif./Murrieta Mesa) amassed season highs of 28 assists and 11 digs.

Jefferson, powered by 18 aces and a .400 attack percentage, downed Lincoln, 3-0 (25-5, 25-6, 25-6) in the day's middle match.

Felician travels to Ettrick, Va., for another tri-match on Sunday, taking on Elizabeth City State University and host Virginia State University in non-league action.
