RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Felician University sophomore Sierra Gallagher (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kamehameha) has been selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 27, the CACC announced on Monday. Gallagher earns the award for the fifth consecutive week and the seventh time in her career.
Gallagher is believed to be the first Felician student-athlete to ever win the same conference weekly award in five consecutive reporting periods. Rob Albano was the Men's Cross-Country Runner of the Week four times in a row in 2012. The following year, in the same sport, Mike Secreti was the Rookie of the Week five times in a six-week period.
Gallagher, a 5-foot-5 libero, averaged 6.64 digs per set during a 2-1 week for Felician, all at home and all in conference play. After posting 15 digs in a 3-0 win over Dominican (N.Y.) College on Oct. 22, she sprung for 23 during a three-set win against Post University two days later. She finished up with a 35-dig effort in a 3-2 loss to 2018 CACC champion Holy Family University on Saturday. Gallagher added eight assists and three aces on the week.

Gallagher has played in 22 matches for the Golden Falcons this season. She leads the CACC and is 11th nationally in NCAA Division II with 5.84 digs per set. In fewer than two seasons she already sits third on Felician's career digs list with 896. She is a 2018 graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama.
Also on Monday, Felician senior opposite hitter Kali Vodrazka (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) was chosen for the CACC Weekly Honor Roll.
Felician (13-13, 11-2 CACC) is guided by sixth-year head coach John Chang of Cranford. It is in first place in the CACC North Division. Gallagher, Vodrazka and the Golden Falcons are next in action on Nov. 2 when they travel to Newark, Del., for a noon start against Wilmington (Del.) University.
